Is It Time to Outsource Your Bookkeeping?

As a Practice/business owner, you do EVERYTHING you can to save money.  Most of the time this means you wear many hats and run every aspect of your practice/business.  But there comes a time when you need to start outsourcing tasks.  Bookkeeping should be the first task you outsource.

How do you know when it is time to outsource your bookkeeping?  🤔

Let's look at some areas that show it is time to outsource your bookkeeping.

↠I believe the most important area to look at is if the time you are spending on your bookkeeping is taking you away from growing your business.  Is doing your bookkeeping taking you away from marketing?  It doing your bookkeeping taking time away from developing relationships with your staff and clients?  Id doing your bookkeeping hurting your practice/business?

↠Is doing your bookkeeping taking time away from your family, friends, and the things you love to do?

↠Do you keep making mistakes?

↠Are your mistakes costing you time and money?

↠Does doing your own bookkeeping cause you stress?

↠Do you stress about having a high tax liability because you are not sure you are doing your bookkeeping correctly?

↠Do you know how to keep your books correctly?

↠Do you HATE doing your bookkeeping?  You hate it so much you ignore it and you are more than 6 months behind?

If you are nodding your head and screaming YESSSS, it is time to outsource your bookkeeping.

Having timely, accurate financial records is the key to having a successful practice/business.  If you don't know how good or bad your practice/business is doing, you don't know what is and what isn't working.  If your bookkeeping isn't accurate you don't know if your practice/business is being successful or if it is failing.  You don't know what to work on, what to change, what you can keep or what area you can improve.

Having your bookkeeping up to date and accurate will help your tax preparer find tax strategies that will help reduce your tax liability.

Outsourcing your bookkeeping will take the stress off your shoulders, give you time to grow your practice/business, spend with your family and friends and have a lower tax liability.

Outsourcing your bookkeeping function is a great choice. Many business owners initially see outsourcing their bookkeeping is expensive. But little did they know and when they consider this opportunity cost and risks, it often works out quicker and cheaper.
